Our commitment to waste management…

We’re proud to use First Mile for our waste management here at Salters Events. They’re one of the first businesses in the waste management industry to become B Corp Certified. They have a “Zero to Landfill” promise whereby they help businesses reduce waste and increase recycling rates, offering 25+ recycling services. Anything that can't be recycled goes to a waste-to-energy facility where it's turned into energy to power homes!

As a catering business, the amount of product packaging alone we can generate is staggering! Wherever possible we try to reduce this. Having a company like First Mile supporting us in this mission is invaluable. Our ethos in the kitchen is to reduce waste and reuse as much as possible. Things like our vegetable peelings, will join the meat bones to create the most amazing stocks! We’ll dehydrate, pickle, jam and preserve the “not so pretty” fruit and veg to use them, rather than wasting them. We use our years of knowledge and experience to push towards a more sustainable way of catering.
